My name is Jessica Lai and I am currently a Junior at Carnegie Mellon University studying Communication Design and Human Computer Interaction with a minor in Intelligent Environments.
Switching between different education systems and cultures growing up has trained me to think from multiple perspectives and become an attentive observer. These topics nurtured my interest in how people translate ideas through creative use of tools and empower their voice with effective use of design strategy and technology. Previously interning at ALPSĀ ALPINE in Japan further helped me discover this curiosity for building accessible design systems that are driven by research and understanding of culture and values.
Outside of work, I like seals and capybaras, looking at goldfish, stealing songs on Spotify, climbing roofs, and sending handwritten letters to my friends.
Currently looking for internship opportunities for Summer 2023!
